Новый альбом Gamma Ray "The Blast From The Past" будет состоять из двух компакт - дисков и включать в себя 28-ми листовый буклет с более чем 80-ю фотографиями из истории группы. В дополнение к этому будет записан бонус - трэк японской версии песни "Rich & Famous". Презентация альбома состоится 17 июня в Сан - Паоло на концерте "Hansen Tribute" фестиваля "REAL COVER NIGHT II" с участием таких групп, как Judas Priest, Gordon, DIO, Gamma Ray, Helloween, SEVENTH SEAL и других...

Hello everybody out there, so here it is, the first Gamma Ray "Best Of Album". (BOA ey!) After 6 studio albums and ten years of existence in the Heavy Metal Universe as Gamma Ray it was about time to take the "best" songs and put them together on one album. To get things straight right from the start: "the best" does not mean that each individual taste is represented, neither does it mean that the other tracks on the 6 albums are crap.

We would have had a hard time in selecting them by ourselves, so we made it easy on us and gave fans worldwide the opportunity to make the choice. 3 Songs had to be rated as "the favourites" of each album. A big thanx to everyone who took part. We counted how often each song was mentioned and it was interesting to see that the average was very clear on position 1 and 2, then on 3, 4 and 5 we sometimes had results that were only one or two points apart. So I guess, a frequent question on the following tour will be: "Why is...this or that song...not included?" Well, can't get it right for everyone, and that's good because in the end we're individuals and not just a dumb mass.

Special about this album is of course the "new arrangement, new recording, new mix, new everything" part. Since S.O.I.S we have a band that seems to be stable and the chemistry feels right. Gamma Ray today sounds different than in the past. So we felt we should create new versions of the chosen songs of "Heading, Sigh, Insanity and Land"; since you guys shouldn't spend your money on something already existing in your record shelf. The new works gave us the chance to avoid mistakes or fuck ups that maybe are only known to the makers ear and to do some new ones, ehe. We took the songs and arranged them as we thought they should be from our nowadays point of view, so don't be surprised to hear a lot of alterations compared to the originals. It will be up to you to decide whether you prefer old or new, or just like or hate both. I think I said enough, enjoy the "best Gamma Ray album ever" and have a joyful metalennium!

GammaRay are recording the song "Angels Of Death" for an upcoming Thin LIzzy Tribute-Album...

The release of the aniversary album had to be delayed to June after the band had realized that the production is much more complex than expected, two months are just not enough!!

The album will be titled "Blast From The Past"...

Especially in Brasil and Germany there was written in the magazines that there would be two brand new unreleased songs on this album, this is total BULLSHIT!!! Fact is that Kai wrote two songs since PowerPlant, one he will take for Iron Savior, the other one for GammaRay.

Kai Hansen will NOT join Iron Savior on their upcoming tour neither with Running Wild nor with Grave Digger.

On March 10th, Dirk and Daniel will play one show with Freedom Call in Fulda (D), supporting Edguy

Due to a long physical absence of mine from the fanclub office (I will be in Brazil for some weeks) the next fanmagazine will be produced by Volkmar and Kralle and will be released end of January. Watch out!

GammaRay's anniversary album will be released middle of May next year. The recordings will start end of January. All songs that originally were recorded with a line-up different from today's will be re-recorded. It will be published as a double CD.
For that album GammaRay intend to do some really special shows: There will be three big parties in Germany with all the former members of GammaRay playing together on stage the songs they once recorded together. Great idea!!!

Ex-GammaRay drummer Thomas Nack is now a fixed member of Iron Savior.

While Daniel and Dirk are rehearsing for the upcoming Freedom Call Tour, Kai starts collecting new ideas, writing songs and discussing some guitar arrangements together with Henjo...
Final tracklist of the upcoming best-of album coming soon... Due to a database crash it is not possible to launch another issue of News Of The Rays within this year. I try my best to recover the database as soon as possible, otherwise...

GammaRay finished redecorating their studio and now it has become one of the best equipped studios in Germany.
Within the next days, Kai, Dirk and Daniel will start rehearsing songs for the recordings of the upcoming best of album. The band wants to figure out whether a new recorded version of old songs (incl. "Land Of The Free") will be done or not. Henjo will join the band later as he is busy with Tobias Sammet right now working on his solo album.

The GammaRay gigs for Greece have been delayed to February/March of next year. Daniel had to retire from the idea of playing the drums on Tobias Sammet's solo album. Dan prefers to write songs for Freedom Call instead. The recordings for their new album will start in December, right after the support tour for Saxon.

ATTENTION: The band is planning to do a best-of album and therefore needs your help. Please vote three (exactly THREE!!) songs for every album and one (exactly ONE!!) for the important EPs. You can VOTE HERE! Your votes will be sent by email, and you can vote until end of September.
Besides, our new magazine "News Of The Rays No. 15" wil be printed next Friday. Watch Out! I decided to put the magazine on this homepage only one month later because it is a priviledge for fanclub members.

Hi Folks! First of all let me say a big sorry for the long silence in this section here. Today I can inform you about that GammaRay came back from the final part of the "Power Plant" Tour from Japan two days ago. There the band for the first time did some acoustic performances. The entire tour was a big success for the band and after few months of break the band will do some other concerts this year, some shows in Greece, maybe one show in Mexico and one in the US. All this will be around September/October.
Henjo, Daniel and Kai will participate on Tobi Sammet's (Edguy vocalist) rock opera which will be recorded in August. This work will be picked with guest musicians, Andre Matos and Timo Tolkki among others.
Next Friday, July 2nd, we will publish our new magazine "News Of The Rays No. 14" and this magazine for the very first time wil be available as downloadable Acrobat-pdf file from that Friday on. Watch Out...
